One of the most beautiful beaches in Cancun is Chac Mool the pristine white sand, sparkling water, and turquoise water, with direct access to many bars and restaurants.
Chac Mool Beach (Playa Chac Mool) is one of the picturesque beaches suitable for families.
The name of the beach comes from the pre-Columbian Mesoamerican statues associated with ancient Aztec and Mayan culture. At important archaeological sites, such as Chichen Itza and Tula, this reclining statue has been discovered. The broad powdery sand encourages visitors to throw towels at the beach and fuel their tan.
There is an area where you can rent umbrellas and deck chairs. When adventurous tourists pass by parasailing, make yourself comfortable, enjoy the view, and watch. The food options on the beach are limited, so it’s a good idea to bring a picnic.
Stare at the water surface, showing a vibrant blue gradient and inviting you to immerse in the water. Strong waves are common here, so be careful when entering. During the day, lifeguards patrolled the beach. Green sea turtles live in the waters with sea turtles.
From May to October, females can sometimes be seen coming ashore to build nests. There are also many things to do near the beach.
The Coral Negro Market is a great place to buy souvenirs and hone trading skills. The vendors here sell everything from ceramics and embroidery to jewelry, Mayan items, and T-shirts. Forum by the Sea is a shopping mall that brings together many retail stores and restaurants.
Chac Mool Beach has located 9.5 km from Avenida Kukulkan, about a 25-minute drive from downtown Cancun. There is no parking lot on the beach, so it’s best to get here by bus or taxi
